What does a Sun Valley Jazz & Music Festival volunteer do?
Volunteers are the back-bone of the festival! Without them we could not do what we do. Most volunteers fill the role of Site Host at the many musical venues. Our stronger volunteers help with facility and band setups. Others serve as drivers for the shuttle van for the bands and musicians, answer phones in the communications room, check-in jazz fans at Sales & Will Call or extend cheerful greetings and directions as a Lobby Greeter.
How much time during the Jazz & Music Festival does a volunteer work?
Volunteers serve 12 hours total during the five-day Jazz event.
When would I have to be in Sun Valley?
All volunteers report on Wednesday, October 16th, 2019.
What expenses would I have?
Each assigned volunteer receives the All Events Badge that admits them to any musical event throughout the week. Volunteers reserve and pay for their own lodging arrangements, as well as meals and other expenses. New volunteers must purchase the official teal-colored SV Jazz & Music Festival volunteer shirt that is worn with appropriate slacks, trousers or a skirt.
Order Volunteer Shirts by calling 1-877-478-5277
Pre-ordered volunteer shirts may be picked up at the event prior to first shift.
Regular polo – $27.50 including tax
Long Sleeves – $30.80 including tax
New Volunteer Coordinator
We are pleased to announce a new addition to our staff, our long-time friend and neighbor, Karen Phillips. Karen will be serving as our Volunteer Coordinator.
She is a retired Commander in the U. S. Coast Guard and served as an internal consultant and project manager at a local utility for many years.
We have served with Karen in other organizations, and she never ceases to impress us with her organizational insight and amiability. Karen and her husband Roger of 30 years have 3 kids, the youngest who is graduating from high school this year, and the oldest set to be married in July.
Please join us in welcoming Karen to Sun Valley Jazz & Music Festival!
