Sun Valley Museum of History
Located in the Historic Forest Service Park, the museum features two exhibition spaces and a collections center. Under the library’s direction, the 1933 buildings, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, showcase exhibits that detail the regions cultural heritage from the first inhabitants, to miners and ranchers, to destination skiers, to artists and athletes.
The Sun Valley area offers an incredible diversity of fly fishing opportunities for everyone from the casual novice to the ambitious expert. Time to buy a stack of postcards for Mom, because you’ll have plenty of fish stories to tell after wading our local waters.
The Sawtooth Mountains boast some of the best alpine granite in the country, with rock-climbing, hiking, and backpacking treks leading to 10,000 foot peaks or pristine alpine lakes. Views will have you channeling your inner Ansel Adams, with wildlife sightings virtually guaranteed.
Guided trips and shuttles to your favorite trailheads are available for any length trip and for any ability.
For those choosing to go solo, maps and guide information are available at the Sun Valley Visitor Center, the Sawtooth National Recreation Area Visitor Center, Ketchum Ranger District, local bookstores and outdoor stores as well as the Community Library.
