We offer twenty dance classes, which are 1 hour and 10 minutes long and available to all festival attendees. Classes are beginning and intermediate. The dance instructors are also available for private lessons for a fee and at their discretion. Charleston, Peabody, Lindy, Balboa, Cha Cha, Swing, Foxtrot, Salsa, Solo Jazz.

DANCE COMPETITIONS
AMATEUR COMPETITION -- We're looking for couples who have never placed in any competition; both members should be at the beginning level. Aerials / Air Steps are NOT permitted for this competition. Any form of swing is valid. Prelims will be judged by instructors, and the finals will be judged by the audience. Partners are required for this competition. FREE ENTRY for everyone! 1st Place: 2 Free passes to SVJJ 2012 & several Jazz CDs; 2nd Place: 2 Free passes to SVJJ 2012; 3rd Place: several Jazz CDs.
ADVANCED LINDY COMPETITION -- This is a Lindy Hop competition, and that's what we want to see! Aerials / Air Steps are permitted as long as both members are being musical and in control. Prelims and finals will both be judged by the instructors. Partners are required for this competition. FREE ENTRY for Dancer's Package holders, $10 per couple for everyone else. 1st Place: $100 cash, 1 pair dance shoes, 2 Free passes to SVJJ 2012; 2nd Place: 2 Free passes to SVJJ 2012; 3rd place: several Jazz CDs.
JACK & JILL OPEN SWING COMPETITION -- This is a great competition for those who don't have a partner. In prelims, you will be judged individually. You will be randomly selected a partner that you will dance with for a portion of a song, then you will be rotated again. For finals, you will be randomly selected a partner and you will be judged as a couple. We are asking for dancers who are beyond beginning level to enter this competition. Aerials / Air Steps are NOT permitted for this competition. Prelims and finals will be judged by the instructors. Slots will be limited, so sign up early in your dance classes. FREE ENTRY for Dancer's Package holders, $5 per person for everyone else. (Prizes are awarded per couple) 1st Place: $100 cash, 1 pair dance shoes, 2 Free passes to SVJJ 2012; 2nd Place: 2 Free passes to SVJJ 2012; 3rd place: several Jazz CDs.
