If you are unable to attend the event for any reason, please return your receipt before November 1st. This will serve as a request to convert the sale to a donation and documentation for your tax-deductible contribution will be sent to you.
The Sun Valley Jazz Jamboree is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Corporation. This policy overrides all previous refund policies of the Sun Valley Jazz Jamboree and may be updated at any time. Updated 1/18/11.
What is the weather like during the Jazz Jamboree?
Traditionally the weather is spectacular with mild to warm days and cool evenings. Rain is very unlikely but on rare occasions a light dusting of snow has happened that lasts but a few hours and does not hamper traffic. The Aspens are turning gold and you would be hard pressed to find a more beautiful Fall location.
Who has to pay the sales & LOT taxes?
We are required by the state of Idaho to charge 6% sales tax and by the city of Sun Valley to charge 2.4% LOT tax on every sale. The reason for this is that our event is held in the state of Idaho and in the city of Sun Valley, and each patron has to come to our event in order to redeem and use his/her badge.
Yes. The schedule is usually available online by the 1st of October. Too many changes in the bands travel prevent us from posting it any earlier. The schedule will be available in two formats, one for viewing and one, in PDF format for your printing pleasure.
I can't find my voucher, but I bought a ticket. What should I do?
Come to the “Jazz” Registration room at the Sun Valley Lodge, give your name, and show your ID.If you purchased tickets for the jamboree, your name will be on the master list.
Why was the festival a week later this year?
Sun Valley Resort sets the dates and counts the weekends starting on Friday. We are always the 3rd weekend.
Do you ever record the live sessions? How can I buy a CD of it?
Yes, we do record some of the performances. They are live, not a studio production so sometimes not as good as you remember! To buy a copy just contact us. Proceeds from this are specifilly earmarked to support the jazz in the schools program.
Why isn't my favorite band on the list?
There is much to consider when bringing a band to the event beyond their obvious abilities. Sometimes the band is not available when we need them as well. All of us have our favorites to be sure, and the challenge we have is to choose a package of acts that provide everything. Sometimes that means even we don't get to bring our favorite! All that said, we think this year is going to be the best ever and we’re sure you will enjoy some of the surprises we have in store.

How can I contact someone?
While we really do enjoy most of the email we receive, and do try to respond to you in a timely manner, please know that we will not have many opportunities to check our email during the month of October.
For most of the year by phone we can be reached at 877-478-5277. We do attend other jazz festivals and then play catchup when we return. This number is NOT answered around the time of the event as the office is moved to Sun Valley for the jamboree
During the time around the jazz jamboree you can call our jazz information center: 208-622-2855. Our wonderful volunteers are on the phone and do check messages frequently.
After the Jazz Jamboree we can usually be found only in person, laying in a pile on a warm beach until mid November. We hope this does not interupt your plans.
